Boy Scouts Honor Ford

June 15th this year would be the day when the Boy Scouts of America’s Cascade Pacific Council would be honoring the Ford Motor Company. The company would be given by the mentioned council as the Motorsports Company of the Year. Such an event would take place during the council’s 17th annual Motorsports Breakfast which would be held in Portland, Oregon. In fact, this breakfast is actually done as part of the activities and events of the Grand Prix of Portland which is an annual stop of the Bridgestone Presents The Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford.

It was Ron Bennett who presented and gave the Motorsports Company of the Year award to the Ford Motor Company. Ron Bennett is one of the members of the Motorsports Breakfast Steering Committee. While honoring the company, he declares, “There are many similarities between the Ford Motor Company and the Boy Scouts. The perfect example is the Pinewood Derby. We both exercise imaginations and learn about the trials and tribulations of building the perfect race car. From designing the vehicle, placing the weights and even developing paint schemes, the Scouts prepare for their races in much the same way our engineers test and develop our race cars.”

Avoiding Distractions While On The Road

Driving is an activity that needs not only the proper skills but it also needs the driver to have ultimate and great concentration on the road. Being focused on the activity itself gives the driver and its passengers greater chances of not meeting any kind of mishap, collision, crash, or accident.

Even experienced drivers still meet accidents when they become careless when driving. Try to take your eyes off the road for just a couple of seconds. Doing such greatly increases your chances of meeting a disaster. That is why automobile experts and drivers suggest that the best thing to do would be to avoid distractions at all costs. By avoiding them, you are also keeping yourself safe along with your passengers, other motorists, and pedestrians.

Try not to eat in the car. You see, when you are eating while driving, you tend to fumble around for the food. You could drop it or even try to drive using just one hand. Doing these things actually could be the cause of a major problem.

Are You Buying A Stolen Vehicle?

Auto and car theft is a crime. In truth, the term “motor vehicle theft” could actually be used to refer to instances where automobiles, buses, motorcycles, snowmobiles, trucks, and other similar means of transportation are stolen. You see, this crime is actually punishable as a felony. This is primarily because this kind of situation causes extreme emotional and economic distress to its victim and to the society as well.

Many automobiles and cars are being stolen every minute. And it could be reflected in the various terms and phrases that has arisen and created to refer to it. Carjacking is one term and it means stealing a vehicle while it is still occupied by the owner or the driver. Another one is joyriding and it refers to stealing a motor vehicle and then later on abandoning it.

Of course, there have been ways and actions that the authorities have come up with to assist consumers and customers with ways to ward off any attempts at stealing their vehicles. In the United States, it is required that motor vehicles have vehicle identification numbers (VIN) and they must be registered with a vehicle licensing authority. If a vehicle has a VIN, it makes reselling a stolen vehicle very hard.
