Automotive – Tvr

Saturday, July 31st, 2010

The TVR brand name and image is one of the most typically British of all time. The name and sight of the vehicles inspire thoughts of theatre, passion and excitement. For the past sixty years TVR have produced performance sports cars that have been amongst the worlds most revered and powerful. The cars produced are iconic and distinctive and have ensured TVR are at the forefront of car aficionados minds when the performance vehicles are discussed.

The current model range from TVR includes three vehicles. The new Sagaris, the Tuscan S and the Tuscan S Convertible. All three of these cars are prime examples of TVR’s ability to marry style and sophistication. The Sagaris uses dramatic lines and sweeps to make it the ultimate racing car for the open road. The new Sagaris is as powerful and performs as well as it looks like it should. The Tuscan S is a mark II model and the latest incarnation of the legendary TVR. Again it couples dramatic design with powerful performance to ensure anyone who uses the Tuscan S will have a drive to remember. The Tuscan S Convertible combines the Tuscan’s already memorable driving experience with the unbridled exhilaration of driving a convertible sports car. This said, the Tuscan S Convertible is not merely a coupe with the roof removed. The functionality of the car has been completely redesigned to ensure a brand new driving experience.

One of the most famous TVR’s of all time is the TVR Chimaera. This car combined raw power with the all the famous looks of a classic sports car. Some critics describe the TVR Chimaera as being all brawn and no brains, with a very loud engine and that it can at times be difficult to handle. This car has been described as offering what can only be called a proper driving experience!

Tips On Shipping Your Motorcycle

Friday, July 30th, 2010

There are quite a few differences between car and motorcycle shipping. While a car has a reliable handbrake and four wheels for extra stability a motorcycle is quite different by design having only two wheels amd nothing to keep the bike stationery except the stand. You might think that motorcycle shipping would be cheaper than car shipping because of the difference in size of vehicles but this is rarely the case. The closed carriers that are often used should be specially designed to carry motorcycles and this will mean that there will either be palettes specially designed for the purpose or there will be specially fitted tracks that serve the same purpose. What this means is that a motorcycle basically takes up the same room as a car when it needs to be shipped anywhere.

How expensive is motorcycle shipping?

This is dependant on two main factors. How far you are travelling and what services the company you intend to use has to offer. There are a variety of different services that a shipping company can offer you. You would be better using a specialist motorcycle shipper than a car shipper that offers motorcycle shipping as an extra service.

The further you are travelling and the more services you require the higher the price is likely to be, but you will receive a discount from the right company if you are transporting more than one motorbike so shop around for quotes.

Attending To Your Air Filter Duties

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

The air filter is one of the parts and components of your car that you do need to change regularly. After all, it is one of those parts that really do a messy kind of work. Remember that one of its main functions is to actually prevent particulate matter from entering important parts of your engine.

What is important is that you should be able to keep in mind that air filters need to be changed regularly. Automobile experts suggest that you should at least replace an air filter annually. However, there are exemptions to this rule and these exemptions depend on the kind of performance that your car has along with its frequency of use. If air filters are new, they actually increase your car’s efficiency. So it means that if you have old or dirty air filters, you would have higher chances of receiving a lowered efficiency.

Replacing your air filters need not be expensive on your part as owner of a car. There is no need to go to a mechanic or auto service center. You actually can do it yourself. The whole activity is quite simple if you do know what you are doing.

You should first open the hood of your car. The air filter is usually mounted on top of your engine. However, for cars with carburetors, you would see that its air filter is located inside a round piece of metal. This metal would look like a medium-sized pizza. On the other hand, for fuel-injected cars, the air filters would be enclosed in a square or a rectangular housing which could be mounted somewhere on the side of your car’s engine and not on top of it.

Automatic Car Alarms For Your Protection

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

Automatic car alarms are being developed to reduce car theft numbers. These automatic car alarms alter the owner when a vehicle is stolen, and sometimes work with two-way communication systems to return a signal that will incapacitate the car and thwart the robbery attempt but cutting off the fuel delivery to the engine.

This is particularly helpful when the car owner is away from the vehicle and therefore unable to hear an audible alarm. With a traditional car alarm (just ringing), a person out of town without their car may not know for days or even weeks that the alarm was activated. An automatic car alarm will dial a predetermined phone number or even send a text message at the time of alarm activation, to immediately inform the owner of trouble. Some of the systems are so sensitive that the owner is not only informed that the alarm detonated, but the action is specified to let the owner know whether the car was just bumped or is moving.

The automatic car alarm allows two-way transmission of messages, enabling a remote signal to stop the fuel supply to the car in motion. Unless the vehicle is on the back of a tow truck or otherwise moving without being driven, stopping the fuel supply will stop the vehicle, and often curtail a robbery in progress. Many automatic car alarm systems include a GPS component, for tracking the vehicle’s location however it is transported.
